Spinney is a visual artist who is currently pursuing graduate studies at Northern Illinois University.

Spinney's prints have appeared at various venues across the country, including the Frist Center for the Visual Arts, the West Tennessee Regional Art Center, Space 204, Gallery C1, the Fire House Gallery, and West Virginia University. Her work is additionally represented in the permanent collection of the Vanderbilt University Fine Arts Gallery. Spinney has served as a volunteer for the Southeastern College Art Conference, as part of the art staff of the Vanderbilt Review, and as a publications editor for Middle Tennessee Mensa.

Spinney is occasionally available for freelance photography, printing, or design. Previous clients include Vanderbilt University's Writing Studio, a division of Amnesty International, and Versus Magazine.
